Victim Services Counselling
The Victims Support Scheme helps people who are victims of a violent crime that happened in NSW, or trauma caused a result of experiences of a violent nature. Counselling is available and supported by the government to help you recover from the psychological and emotional impacts your experience.
The government funds up to 22 hours of free counselling, however, once the allocation is used, further hours can be approved where exceptional reasons are evident, or the applicant was a victim of child sexual assault or child abuse.

How to apply
- If you are a primary victim applying for counselling only, use the Counselling- external sitelaunch form.
- If you are a primary victim and would like to apply for counselling and other support types, use the Primary Victims- external sitelaunch form.
- If you are a secondary victim, use the Counselling- external sitelaunch form.
- If you are a family victim, use the Family Member of a Homicide Victim- external sitelaunch form.
What to expect
Bethanie has been a Social Worker since 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Honours from the University of New South wales. Bethanie is currently completed her Masters in Social Work Counselling and has post-graduate training in Psychology, couples therapies, and child development.
Bethanie has provided clinical supervision to students as well as other Social Workers in the Out of Home Care/Foster care space. Bethanie is also able to provide supervision to social workers and students in other practice settings including general hospital casework, community and mental health and NGO family support services. Bethanie's approach to supervision is one of collaboration in a professional relationship that is empathetic, encouraging and focuses on nurturing strong practice skills. Supervision is a safe space to develop your professional identity in the Social Work field; building on your strengths and exploring areas for growth in a meaningful way. |
